About ACE

The Academy for Civic Engagement (ACE) is a national award winning magnet program!
We currently hold the distinction of being a Magnet Schools of  America Certified Demonstration School.

We were recently honored with the Magnet Schools of America National Award of Merit. The National Award of Merit is presented to schools that represent the pinnacle of magnet education, excelling in academic achievement, fostering diversity, implementing innovative curricula, engaging families, and building strong community partnerships. This award celebrates schools demonstrating exceptional commitment to MSA’s Five Pillars of Magnet School Excellence: diversity, academic excellence, innovative curriculum, family and community engagement, and partnerships. MSA member schools compete for this recognition by submitting a comprehensive application reviewed by a trained panel of experts.

Our Mission

Empowering students to become engaged citizens through government, economics, and service learning.

Our Vision

ACE students will emerge as diverse, global leaders with a deep understanding of government structures, civic responsibilities, and the essential role of citizens in a democracy. Through a focus on financial literacy and responsible economic decision-making, ACE empowers students to navigate and contribute to the evolving global economy. By fostering leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking through project-based learning and service-driven initiatives, ACE inspires students to engage meaningfully with their communities and create lasting, positive change in the world.

The ACE Magnet Program is honored to be recognized as a Certified National Magnet School by Magnet Schools of America.

The ACE Magnet Program is also the proud recipient of The National Award of Merit.

Acceptance to ACE

Students enrolling in kindergarten through fifth grade who are active learners and seek to become strong leaders are encouraged to apply. ACE is rigorous, as South Carolina standards are covered at a quicker pace to allow time for government, economics and service learning curriculum. Selection is through a random lottery.
